HAVANA — In a move that political analysts describe as ‘bold’ and ‘definitely not in the history books,’ Cuba has reportedly increased its efforts to lift the U.S. embargo. The country is offering Donald Trump a 1964 vintage Cadillac Seville and an all-expenses-paid evening with Cuban Sound Machine legend Gloria Estefan.
Sources say the offer was hidden inside a cigar Trump almost lit before an aide stopped him. Addressed to “El Presidente of the North,” the letter listed: sixteen barrels of rum, a trunk of Cohibas, and the Cadillac” fully loaded, original ashtrays, just hints of the smell of country horse manure.” Trump is reportedly “very interested, especially in the car,” but also requested “an original Che beret and a couple of those bright flowery shirts.”
The main offer: an evening with Gloria Estefan, who apparently wasn’t consulted. When asked for comment, Estefan said, “My lawyers are on it,” and started singing “Conga,” leaving reporters both confused and oddly hopeful about U.S.-Cuban relations.
Defending the offer on TV, Raúl Castro said, “We’ve tried sanctions, diplomacy—even Pitbull. Now we go classic American: Cadillac and Gloria. Who can resist?” He added, “If that fails, Desi Arnaz’s maracas are next.”
White House officials won’t confirm Trump’s interest, but one aide admitted, “He’s been Googling how to say ‘Cadillac in Spanish all morning. He also wondered if he could claim credit for ’80s Cuban cigars retroactively.”
Commentators are split: is it a masterstroke of charm, or does Cuba overvalue a Cadillac with 60 years of potholes? Meanwhile, Estefan fans push viral petitions—some to free her, others to hype a “Gloria Loves Donnie” tour.
